About the Branch

Nanaimo Wellington branch is located in Country Club Centre, halfway between downtown and the North end of the city. In May 2017, the library moved from its former location on Barons Road, where it had been since 1979, to its current location across the street at Country Club Centre.

Celebrate your public library! Something for all ages.

We just watched Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet courtesy of the VIRL.  An interesting production (filmed stage play) with the brilliant idea of making the Montagues a white family and the Capulets a black family. Starring Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad.

Use your library card to open many doors . . .

Richard Ford podcast

A good suggestion from another SOB! Thanks to Colin Whyte.

It’s free. And also awesome. Best booky thing I’ve listened to in ages, esp the stuff about frank bascombe, one of the best characters in fiction ever. (Yeah, ever.)
Charming, honest, hilarious, insightful.
